Tour Plan
Day 1
Chennai - Guwahati
- Departure from Chennai to Guwahati by Indigo at 9:10 AM.
- Arrival at Guwahati by 11:55 hrs.
- Visit Kamakhya Temple and enjoy a cruise on the Brahmaputra River.
Overnight stay at Guwahati.
Day 2
Guwahati → Tipi → Bomdila
- Early morning drive to Bomdila.
- En route, visit the Orchid Center at Tipi.
- Tipi houses over 7,500 orchids, showcasing some of the finest species such as the Dainty Lady’s Slipper and Dendrobium.
- Visit Bomdila Monastery, constructed by Tsona Gontse Rinpoche, the 12th reincarnate.
- The monastery, inaugurated in 1965, is one of the most famous attractions of Bomdila and is home to Buddhist monks and lamas.
- It is believed to be an exact replica of the Tsona Gontse Monastery.
Overnight stay at Bomdila.
Day 3
Bomdila → Dirang → Tawang
- After an early breakfast, departure to Tawang.
- Drive through the beautiful Dirang Valley to reach Sela Pass (13,703 ft).
- En route, bubbling rivers and colorful tribes greet you.
- Spend some time at the Paradise Lake, home to the Monpa tribes and a major center of Mahayana Buddhism.
- Continue the drive to Tawang. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel.
- In the evening, visit the Craft Center and a traditional Monpa Village.

Day 4
Tawang Sightseeing

Tawang is not only one of the 16 administrative districts of Arunachal Pradesh but also one of its most beautiful regions.

From natural marvels to man-made wonders, the place has it all.

This tour package is designed to offer you the opportunity to witness every gem of Tawang, including orchid gardens, colorful tribes, warm valleys, and ancient monasteries.

Today, enjoy a full-day excursion around Tawang.

Visit the famous Tawang Monastery, founded by Mera Lama Lodre Gyaltso, a contemporary of the Fifth Dalai Lama, in the 17th century AD.

The monastery currently accommodates over 500 monks and houses priceless Buddhist texts and scriptures.

Later, take a short trek to Bramdungchung Ani Gompa, the oldest Ani Gompa in Tawang and an abode of nuns, situated amidst scenic mountain surroundings under the administration of Tawang Monastery.

In the evening, visit Urgelling Monastery, located 5 km south of town, the birthplace of Tsangyang Gyatso, the Sixth Dalai Lama, in 1683.

Also visit a Monpa Village.

Day 5
Tawang → Bum La Pass → Tawang
- Bum La Pass is located about 37 km from Tawang at the Indo-China border, at an altitude of over 15,200 ft above sea level.
- This place is a must-visit, subject to obtaining a special permit from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Tawang District, and clearance from the Indian Army cantonment.
- Visit PT Tso and later return to Tawang.
Return to Tawang for overnight stay.
Day 6
Tawang → Bomdila → Bhalukpong

After breakfast, drive back to Bomdila.

En route, visit the 1962 Indo-China War Memorial, dedicated to Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat of the 4th Battalion, Garhwal Rifles Infantry Regiment.

He displayed extraordinary heroism by holding back the Chinese attack single-handedly for 72 hours at an altitude of about 10,000 ft before succumbing to enemy fire during the war.

The memorial is located 25 km before Tawang, just below Sela Pass, surrounded by scenic terrain. Continue the drive to Bomdila, enjoying views of snow-clad peaks such as Kangto (7,090 m), Nyegi Kangsang (7,050 m), and Gorichen (6,488 m).

Upon arrival at Bhalukpong, check in to the hotel. Evening at leisure.

Day 7
Bhalukpong → Umiam Lake → Shillong
- After breakfast, drive to Shillong via Barapani (Umiam Lake).
Overnight stay at Shillong.
Day 8
Shillong - Dawki - Mawlynnong - Shillong
- After breakfast, visit Dawki (India–Bangladesh border).
- Proceed to Dawki Lake for boating.
- The crystal-clear water allows visibility of rocks and small fish beneath, creating the illusion that boats are floating on air.
- The river, surrounded by forests and rocky terrain, offers a picturesque and fascinating experience.
- After lunch, visit Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in India, located 90 km from Shillong near the Indo-Bangladesh border.
- The village is known for its cleanliness and attractions such as the Living Root Bridge and a natural balancing boulder.
- The Living Root Bridges are formed from the roots of the Ficus elastica tree and can support the weight of over 50 people.
- Return to Shillong.
Overnight stay at Shillong.
Day 9
Shillong → Cherrapunjee → Shillong
- Departure at 6:00 AM for a full-day excursion to Cherrapunjee (locally known as Sohra), situated at an altitude of 4,823 ft (1,484 m) in the southernmost part of the Khasi Hills, bordering Bangladesh.
- Cherrapunjee offers panoramic views of hills, deep gorges, valleys, and spectacular waterfalls.
- Visit Mawsmai Cave and Nohkalikai Falls.
- Return to Shillong.
Overnight stay at Shillong.
Day 10
Shillong → Guwahati → Chennai
- Early morning visit to Eco Park, Shillong Peak, and Elephant Falls.
- Proceed to Guwahati and depart to Chennai at 18:25 hrs.
- Arrival at Chennai at 21:25 hrs (or late-night flight).
Tour ends with sweet memories.
